My car started leaking oil about 6 months ago. The oil only leaks when the car is running and it comes from where the seal is on the filter. If I replace the filter the leak stops but it comes back again about a month later and stops for another month spand when I change the filter. There's no left over seals and the filter is on correctly. Everyone i've questioned say there must be too much pressure build-up but they arent sure why. I'm having to replace to filter about once a month just so it doesn't leak. I've tried all different filters from cheap to expensive and they all stop te leak a month maybe 2 and it starts leaking again. Please help, and thanks alot!

Start by removing the oil pressure sender and screw in a mechanical oil pressure gauge.

Check pressure, but to cause a leak because of pressure, you would have to be in the 200 psi area.

It is also possible the filter base has a knick in it cutting the seal when installing.
