2000 Chevy Cavalier overheating

2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 93456. Miles

2.2 L - Low coolant light comes on & off. I added Dex Coo and itis some how still loosing antifreeze. Last night it overheated that is when I noticed the fan not turning on. By past the fan and it works but when I put in a new switch, it did not notice the moter was getting hot for it to kick on. I have touched the holes from the radiator and it is cool but holes to mortar is hot.

do you have any ideas?

Have you changed the thermostat yet on it? If not you need to do so Pressure check the coolant system will help Check under the water pump pulley for leaks Water pump may be failing too. Good luck
