Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Automatic 130000 miles

we are getting a code p0301 (Cylinder #1 Misfire)
after we've replaced the plugs & wires. We've reset the check engine light to have it just come on again.
not sure what to try next.
any help would be great. Thanks

Check the compression and injector for no.1

Misfires can be caused by worn or fouled spark plugs, a weak spark (weak coil, bad spark plug wire), loss of compression, vacuum leaks, anything that causes an unusually lean fuel mixture (lean misfire), an EGR valve that is stuck open, dirty fuel injectors, low fuel pressure, or even bad fuel.

Switch coil packs around and see what happens to the misfire at no.1
