2000 Chevy Cavalier air bag light

just purchased used car for daughters first car. The air bag light is constantly on. Is there a way to reset or shut off?

Have the computer scanned to see what is causing the light to be on. Most parts stores will do it for free. If the light is on, the air bag most likely will not work due to a sensor problem.
