1999 Chevy Cavalier Turn signals; flasher location.

Electrical problem
1999 Chevy Cavalier 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 117K miles

I've checked previous answers to this question about turn signals not working. I bought a new flasher, but where does it go? I can't see anything like a flasher under the driver's side dashboard. Is it in the steering column, as some other posts have suggested? Thx in advance for your help.
