1999 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 150000 miles

I have a 2.4l engine and it has a knock in it but cant tell if it is upper end or lower end, how do i tell

Lower end is deep hammer like sound, Rev up release if it knocks going up bearings if on release wrist pin piston slap. Top end light ticking goes up and down with engine speed.
