I have a 99 cavalier, everytime I have to really press on the brakes while going at a normal driving speed, my brakes feel like/sound like they are banging. It makes the car feel like they have abs but there is NO studdering in the pedal. Do you have any idea what could cause that? I checked the brake fluid and it is full.

Warped brake rotors will cause this. Also brake fluid leaking on the linings of rear drum brake. ( You don't specify which type you have.)
