99 CHEVY CAVALIER Z24 2.4 AUTOMATIC BEEN DRIVING MY CAR NO PROBLEMS USUALLY RAN GREAT. ON MY WAY TO WORK OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AND MY ETS OFF LIGHT AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED I WENT TO WORK STILL AND AFTERWORDS DROVE HOME EACH STOP SIGN AND LIGHT MY CAR SHAKES AND SOUNDS LIKE ITS GONNA DIE ALMOST FEELS LIKE ITS DRAGGING AS IM DRIVING. WE CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND CAPS THAT GOE ON THE COIL WITH SPARK PLUGS I DONT KNOW WHATS WRONG ONE PERSON PUT IT ON MACHINE AND SAID MISS FIRE. IVE NEVER EVER HAD TROUBLE WITH THIS CAR BEFORE ITS RAN GREAT . WHEN I START IT IT SHAKES AND IDLES WHILE IN DRIVEWAY COULD IT BE COIL PACK IF I CHANGED PLUGS AND BOOTS FOR IT? FUSES LOOK OK IM STUMPED REALLY BAD

Hi Michelle

could be coil pack sounds like you have covered the basics. But first let's find out which cylinder has the prob.

Remove one plug wire at a time with engine running from the coil pack. Engine should idle lower each time a wire is removed from coil pack the one that makes no diff plugged to coil or not. This will be the prob cyl find this out and write back and we will help you determine what is wrong with that cyl. Thanks billymac
