Bought this car, and was told a story. Fixed all that they person told us that was wrong, and it cranked right up, runs fine, shifts fine, etc. BUT, the axel on the driver's front keeps either breaking or twisting. Hubby drove it and it did fine, but it busted on him, then I drove it and cut the wheel really sharp and heard a HUGE BANG, BANG, BANG, CLUNK (this is too funny) and when I straighten out the wheel, drove fine. Told hubby and he took the wheel off, and it twisted the axel SO bad that the blue grease was coming off.

So, what in the WORLD causes the axel to twist / break? We bought the first 3 axels as "refurbished". This car has a 2.2 but the 4 axels we bought and it spit out has been for the 2.2 but they seem WAY TO SHORT for the car. The 2.4 axel seems longer. Please help. We have replaced the fuel lines, alternator, battery, oil pan, etc. And this is the only thing wrong. Are there more parts that I am missing?

Oh, the story was that a 16yr old ran it off in a ditch, and it punched a hole in the oil pan, and cut the fuel lines, but can that much drama to the car do something that is causing the front end to "eat" axels?

Thank you for your time!

I would have it taken in and looked at, make sure that side of the car's frame hasnt been bent or distorted in anyway causing excessive pressure on it.

Your frame may be bent if every time you put a new one on it shreds it up I would give a shot at a 2.4 CV but theres no gurantee that it'll work if not take it to a shop and have them check it out
