I HAVE A 1998 CHEVY CAVALIER AND ITS LEAKING FROM THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. AND WHEN I TURN ON THE HEATER, STEAM STARTS TO COME OUT. BUT IT CANT BE THE HEATER CORE BECAUSE ITS NOT LEAKING THROUGH THE INSIDE OF THE CAR OR THE HEATER HOSES. WHAT CAN IT BE?

Could be coming out of your a/c overflow elbow on the firewall. I believe the a/c / heater housing is sealed to keep the condensation from the a/c from leaking inside the car, so the heater side would be sealed also and drain thru the firewall.

I'd say it's a good possibility if steam is coming out of the heater. Just a thought.
