My Cavalier transmission only slips when I try to go into passing gear. Can you tell me why. I replaced the fluid and filter.
Thanks Mark

Some transmissions are controlled by a TV (throttle valve) cable. This increases hydraulic pressure as gas pedal is depressed. If cable is out of adjustment, broke, streached, this could be the problem.

Other transmissions are controlled by vacuum or PCM or combination.

Have a trans shop diagnosis the problem, slipping is a serious problem, get it fixed or you will be replacing the trans.
