Changed ouy the water pump, had to remove the alt. While alt. was out of car touched power lead to engine. yes i forgot to disconnect from battery. Found that I blew 2 fuse links that run to starter solenoid. realized i had a problem because stopped running like i had a bad alt. Replaced both fuse links car started and ran battery is holding the charge so that problem is solved. But after i let the car run for a while to recharge, check engine light came on. Car started to run rough and i noticed the temp. gauge is not working. Where did i scew up is there another fuse out? Just a note: Temp gauge didn't work when both fuse links were out.

Either the sensor, relay, or the gauge itself may have been damaged. Have you checked them?
