The transmission lacks power from what it had. The RPM only ever goes up to about 2500. Otherwise runs OK. We have changed out a front wheel bearing recently, and did have some transmission oil leak out (which has been refilled) it seemed to be a seal I believe? Anyway, this low power had started prior to that repair. How do I go about finding out what the problem is?

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

Thanks for responding. No check engine light comes on. How do you check the fuel pump pressure? Will it have to go to the GM dealer and have that checked on the computer system? What would that cost (on average)?

The fuel pump is easy to check. You will need a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent the gauge to you. Here is a how to.
