Engine Cooling problem
1998 Chevy Cavalier Front Wheel Drive Automatic 142000 miles

Hello, this may sounds like a very basic question but the low level coolant light came on in my car yesterday, it didn't stay on but it did light up about 8 times.

Can I just get more coolant from Canadian Tire/Walmart and put more in? I have had this car for over 8 years and this is the first time it has happened. There is no pools of liquid under my car and it had a tune up in June.

Thank you,

Add a 50/50 mix of coolant to recovery tank, do this when engine is cold, and check radiator level.
