I have noticed in the past few days that my car is making a high pitched sound while driving. It is really loud while moving slowly and is not really heard at high speeds or when turning. Can you help? And do you have any estimates at about how much it would cost to fix the problem?

Hi:
Does the sound change when you use the brakes? Does the noise exist when you are sitting still?

I don't hear it when it is not in motion/idling. I only hear it when I am driving. I also don't hear the noise when I am braking, so no sound change at braking.

Actually, it's more of a high "shhh"ing sound.

It sounds like the front brake sensors are indicating the pads need replaced. Have them checked (or do it yourself) and let me know what you find.
