Shifter is not working. It just slides from Park to Drive and does not shift in into gear.

When you move the lever to neutral postion, can you push the car?

If yes, then you may have transmission problems.
If no, then a visual inspection of where the shift cable attaches to the tranny, the shifter, and the cable itself should lead you in the right direction.
