1997 Chevy Cavalier where is the tranmission dip stick?

i have a 1997 chevy cavalier 2.2 and i cant find the dip stick where is it or how do i check the fluid level.

Hello, it depends on whether you have a 3 speed or 4 speed transaxle. The picture is for a 3 speed.

The 4 speed has a site level screw, located close to where the half shaft enters the transaxle.

i have the 4 speed auto transmisson in the 2.2 where is the level screw for the transmission towards the back or front left or right side if you where underneath the car. i dident understand what you explained in the other post.

Under the vehicle, for the site level screw, the halfshaft is the axle that drives the front wheels, one on each side. If you need to add fluid, at the vent cap.
