1997 Chevy Cavalier Spring and Strut Replacement

I was told by a repair shop that when I replace my front and rear struts that I whould also replace the springs. Is this just a suggestion or fact.

It is a suggestion, but - if a spring fails it is usually a front spring - and- if a front spring fails it can be very serious - depending on how fast you are going.
