When I put the car in gear, there is a knocking noise coming from the front right tire area. Doesn't do it when it downshifts or upshifts, just when put in gear. What could it be?

Does it do it when the car is not moving? Have you checked motor mounts? Is it one knock or many? Have you checked the CV joint?

Car has stopped knocking. Mechanic checked CV joints and motor mounts. A rock did fall out of somewhere during inspection. Thanks.

That is an easy fix. I'm glad you found it.

Let us know if you have questions in the future.
