1997 Chevy Cavalier car radio stays on

My wife just got a used car for very cheap and with some problems with the car as is but the radio is my concern. It stays on even after inginition is set off and the car is completely off what connection problem could it be and how many bolts are required to be taken out in the case of removing the panels ???

Hi, what do you mean, the radio stays on? Does the on and off knob work, for the radio? If you pull the radio fuse, does it kill the radio? The radio fuse circuit gets feed from the ignition switch. Should only be hot with key, in on or acc position. There is also a constant battery feed to radio for memory and clock, where applicable.

Most repair info says to disarm airbag/s when working around dash.
