Heater problem
1996 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My fan stopped working a few days ago, but if I hit a bump the fan will kick in for a little bit but makes an awful sound from the right side of the motor. And when it does work its not nearly as strong as before.

Sounds like the fan blade has worked loose from the shaft.

Disconnect the fan connector and fabricate a connector to connect fan directly to 12V, if fan runs then fan motor is OK. If it makes noise, like it is hitting something, then I would remove fan assy. and see if blade is attached properly.
