1996 Chevy Cavalier car is idling low,rough, and stalling a

The car is the Chevy Cavalier Z24 model with a 2.4 ltr engine. Today it started running rough at idle and eventually stalls out if not revved. Once the RPMs are up it stays running though. The engine sounds OK when under acceleration, it only runs rough when I stop and let off the gas, then it will stall.

try taking choke cleaner and cleaning the throttle plate on both sides as it collects oil vapors and gets stickiy. Occasionally it needs to be done. YOu pull the air duct off at the engine. Make sure the engine is off and then put it back together start it up and see if it works.......
