1995 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 85,xxx miles

iam getting a clicking or knocking sound form the top side of the motor when the gas is hit lightly it sounds like it is coming from the valve cover or by the belt
can you help with any ideas please just bought car so not real sure on history of car

First thing I would do is remove the valve cover and inspect rockers, pushrods for excessive wear.
