I replaced my alternator with one from the junk yard, and proceeded on a 300 mile trip. During the trip, my air stopped working. When I wa trying to come home, apparently my ac compressor seized up (so no heat or air), and shredded my serpentine belt. I bought a smaller one, bypassing the compressor. That too came off again, and had to fool with the tension and finally got home, but not before my car started overheating in stop and go traffic. That's when I found out my cooling fan has stopped working. I replaced the relay, to no avail. I haven't been able to find a fuse blown. Am I overlooking anything? I was told to wire the fan directly to the battery to see if the fan motor is shot, but with the compressor gone too, I wonder if there is more going on.

Wiring the fan to battery will tell yu if fan motor is bad, if OK then fuse, relay or fan switch.
