1992 Chevy Cavalier car turns off when driving

After about 3 to 5 miles the check engine light comes on and then cuts off I let it sit for about ten to twenty mins and it restarts with no problem

Hello, maybe your intermittently losing the rpm signal? Have you tried any basic tests? When it refuses to start, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs and injector pulse. You might check for trouble codes, see if anything shows up.
