After instaling a new alternator I cant seem to get the belt back in place I have tried to push down the tension wheel but that does nothing w/the belt, have also tried to put belt around everything but the tension wheel and the try to pull it onto the wheel but that doesnt even work. Got any suggestions?

Either the belt is on wrong, The tensioner is locked up, not uncommon on caviliers to happen, belt is around something besides wheels or you are not turning tensioer far enough. I have a set of special wrenches for tensioners and on some cars they are the only way to go. There should be a diagram under the hood of how the belt should be routed. :D :D
