Fuel pump was replaced by thiis mechanic and when I tried to started it wouldn't. I could hear the pump working. He removed the line that goes to the carburator and no gas was coming out what could it be? Is their a hose inside the tank that connects to the fuel pump or is all pressure that builds up inside the tank?

If you hear the pump coming on and no fuel pressure check fuel filter and yes the pump connect to the sender by a hose and secured by a clamps
Remove the pump and check
