1990 Chevy Cavalier tail lights and plate light

1990 Chevy Cavalier

everytime we turn on the light switch the fuse blows and kills the back tail lights and plate light but the brake lights and headlights are fine what could the problem be?

Either the switch is bad or you have a short to ground in that circuit.
Check the wiring to the lights looking for any bare/pinched wires.
