I have a 1989 z24 cavalier with a 2.8 6 cyl. It started out that it ran fine until it got warm then shut down. when it cooled it ran until it got warm again. now it turns over but wont start. I have bought an ecc, icm, and new coil packs, but still no fire. I have checked the fuses and the relays with no luck any help is greatly appriated. I checked the service codes and it is ecm code 43.

Hi:
Have you checked the crank position sensor (CPS)? That could be causing the problem. What is interesting is that a code 43 is the knock sensor which can really play with the timing, but I can't believe the car wouldn't start. When you say no fire, do you mean your not getting spark? If so, my guess is the CPS.

Let me know what you find.
