I have a96 caprice with a LT1, car died out when driving. Replaced fuel pump, screen, fuel filter, starter, battery, optispark, had coil checked as well as icm checked, checked spark to all major sensors maf, map, iac, tp sensor, checked for spark in coil, an spark plugs. Car cranks, sputters but wont start

Wow! It sounds like you have really gone over this thing. If you have good spark and good fuel pressure, have you made sure the injectors are getting power? If they are, are the plugs wet with fuel if you pull them out? Finally, have you checked compression, timing, and made sure the catylatic converter isn't plugged?

Let me know.

Joe

Plugs are wet when I took it out to check for spark, timing is controlled by optispark, havent done compression check, an code reader says left bank cat. Iis showing code, car has dual exhaust, has died out 3 times in the past but always started up.

If the plugs are wet, then the fuel isn't getting burned. Are you getting a good hot blue snapping spark or does it appear weak?

Hey I WAS wondering did you get it fixed. My 1995 Chevy ss caprice did the same thing while I was driving it. Its a 5.7L

I was driving and it just shut off. Change 2 Moduels on it, fuel pump, Distributor Cap and rotor, ignition coil. Still nothing, I hear fuel pump turn on, and its not getting a spark. So could it be wiring, also someone said he may be the Security System. Im lost right now need help
