Hello and wellcome to the 2 CarPros Forum, Most repairs are estimated by book time, set by the manufacturer or a reputable publisher, such as Chilton, AllData, Ect. It is usually based on a remove and replace or remove and rebuild procedure. Depending on how much of the linkage has to be addressed, would determine a flat rate or a modified flat rate. Modified Flat Rate would be added time for repair procedures not listed. This should be added to the repair time with a detailed explanation and the procedure listed on your estimate of repairs. If the linkage at the transmission need to be repaired or replaced, it should be around 1.5 hours give or take.5 hours. Multiply the shops hourly rate and add your parts, tax, ect. Most repair shops charge a minimum 1 hour because of time used behind the actual repair, such as locating parts, repairig bent parts, extra time used in prep or cleaning. After all a little extra, by a reputable Tech, makes for a better and longer lasting repair! Please write back and let me know if it was helpful information.
