MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHEN I HAVE THE CARS HEADLIGHTS ON, AND THE TURN SIGNALS ALWAYS WORK, BUT WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE DOWN, THEY DONT GET BRIGHTER TO SIGNIFY THAT IM COMING TO A STOP. THEY ALSO DONT COME ON IN THE DAYTIME WHEN IM NOT USING THE HEADLIGHTS, AND I PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN. STUMPED!

I would say the side lights or parker's are on and the brake lights are not working, so check the brake light fuse and check the brake light switch mounted at the top of the brake pedal under the dash.

Hi there,

You will have to check power at the fuse with a test light, at the switch, through the switch and at each loom plug, if you have power, then check the brake light earths.

Used the power light to check all the powering, everything is good. Even the new stop light switch I just put in by the brake pedal is working properly, as far as power and switching on and off goes. My uncle says it could possibly be the turn signal switch? Not to sure of his car knowledge sometimes tho. Lol

Just fixed it myself! It was a small white wire that goes in with the connector for the turn signal switch under the steering column. The wire had come out of the connector, so I stripped it a little and reconnected it. Works perfectly now! And I didnt have to tear my whole dash apart or take off my steering wheel to do it. Thanx for all the help and info! Love this site!

HERE WE GO AGAIN. Having the same problem again. Not the wire this time, and I just got a new brake light switch, checked all my inside fuses as well. This is the 3rd brake light switch I have gone through since ive had this car, and now this new one I just put on is not fixing the problem. ANY IDEAS AT ALL?

The brake light goes through the turn signal switch. You have to get a switch and plug it in without installing then check for brake light operation. If so you will have to install it.
