Timing

First have someone hand turn the crank with a socket (easier with all plugs out!). Put your finger on the number 1 plug hole as the motor is turned, you will feel the compression. Now remove your finger and insert a screwdriver into the hole and turn till its sticking out the farthest. The timing mark on the harmonic balance should be at the top. You are now set up at TDC! Put the distributor in pointing to fire the #1 plug!
