I have a 1994 Chevrolet Z28 with a 350 engine - V8 -120,000 miles
I was driving down the freeway and it just stopped, never to start again. I noticed metal in the oil. What could cause this? Do I need a new engine?

Please do not shoot the messenger! What you are describing sounds bad, indeed. Metal shavings in oil could be most likely bearing material. Did you hear any knocking or grinding noises before it quit? Was it running hot or the oil pressure drop real low?
Will it even turn over or is it locked up? Soiunds like with the milage you have on it you are due for a rebuild or new motor whichever way you want to go with it. Don't think there is an easy way out of this one, sorry.
