Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
2002 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual 78k miles

3 weeks ago on the highway the car had lots of vibration more than normal. I have a poly trans mount so that transmits more vibration than a stock mount. The next day on the highway I started to hear the rear whine around 70+ mph. It does it both on and off the gas. Louder off the gas though than on the gas. It kind of varies with the road surface. I started to listen more for a whine at all other speeds. It whines at 40+ mph.

I but the car on jack stands and tried running the car in the air and could only go about 5 mph before the traction control would engage thus the rear brakes would come on. I then pulled the rear differential cover to examine the ring and pinion for wear or any damage. Everything looked good. The torsen differential gears looked fine too. I also grabbed the driveshaft and no play. Then I put everything back together and tried running the car on the jacks and again the same issue as before. Then I put the trans into reverse and the traction control didn't engage and ran the up to to around 25 mph. Then tried 1st gear and this time it was fine. I ran thru the gear up to around 70 in fourth and then let off the gas and no whine at all.

I did find though looking under the car that the torque arm bushing was torn so I ordered a poly one. I wonder if this is throwing off the pinion angle thus causing the problem I am having?
