engine light comes on, temperature gauge doesnt move, & fan comes on almost immediatly after turning over. whats the problem, & how much longer can i drive on it before it causes extensive damage?

The fan coming on at start isnt anything to worry about. As far as the temp gauge......sounds like the sensor is bad. You should replace that as soon as you can. The check engine light is something you need to check out. Your local auto parts store should do a free diagnostic on your car. I would work from there. If the car isnt over heating........you shouldnt have any major worries. Good Luck!!!!!!! :)
