My car stopped this weekend and my step-dad says that the engine may have locked up, because when he checked there was no oil in it. When I try to start the car it just clicks like when the battery is dead. He checked the batter and he says that it's ok. I get my oil changes regulary and when i checked it, the oil was fine. Before it stopped the car didn't make any odd noises, nor did the oil light come on. Is there any clear clues I can look for will indicate engine lock up.

Hi there,

Remove the spark plugs and try cranking the engine or try turning it by hand, you may even take the starter out and try turning the engine with a lever on the ring gear teeth, it that wont move it you have a problem.
