Engine Performance problem
1998 Chevy Camaro 6 cyl Automatic 137000 miles

Check engine light kept coming on and off so I took it in to have the code pulled and said it was my EGR valve. I have also looked up online for the symtomes I am having...motor will shudder-feels like something is not catching. I will be on the freeway and have to slow down then trying to speed back up it struggles to do so...on the interent said it is either the EGR valve to be replaced or cleaning the EGR ports. It is a good idea to replace EGR valve? And how do I clean the EGR ports?

Why don't you just clean the egr valve and dig out the passages with a bore brushes an use a carb cleaner and see what happens.
