I'm going on a road trip soon and I noticed that when I leave my car idling, my rpm slowly bounces uncontrollably a little! My car has done this for a very long time, and I'm wondering if it will be a problem any time soon.

that depends how much it is bouncing? is it just a few rpms maybe or is it more like up and down 100-500 or maybe even more rpms?

does temperature affect this? i would suggest a throttle body and idle air control motor cleaning. from there i would unhook the battery and let the computer reset then rerun it from there and see how it goes. if nothing clean the MAF sensor off and check for vaccum leaks anywhere after the maf sensor. throttle body, intake manifold.
