Electrical problem
1995 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 130K miles

1995 Chevy Z28 Camaro

Events in Order:

Attempted to start car and everything was dead.
• No dash indication.
• No radio.
• No attempt to start
• No power windows, wipers, A/C.
• Headlights worked and were bright.
• Door Locks Worked Fine.

While moving car all came on.
• Physically pushing and turning car while key was in the on position to allow moving in neutral. Everything worked Fine, and car started.

Six Months later after no incidents. Attempted to start car and everything was dead.
• No dash indication.
• No radio.
• No attempt to start
• No power windows, wipers, A/C.
• Headlights worked and were bright.
• Door Locks Worked Fine.

Movement of car did not fix the problem, therefore got car towed to shop.
• Shop told me it was a loose wire and all was working fine now.

A few months later while driving.
• RPMs would randomly climb and drop and eventually loose indication only to return the next time I started the vehicle.

Six Months later after no incidents. Car started and drove fine However:
• No radio.
• No wipers.
• No power windows.

Cycled key and switch multiple times and all worked.
• Everything is working, but for how long?

Questions I have are these. Does the Camaro have some kind of relay that may be getting stuck? Is it the starter switch, that by the way I had replaced 3 years ago? Do I possibly have a loose connection some were that could give all these random problems? I tried to talk with the local GM dealer but they refused me because the car is too old and not purchased from this particular lot. Also I am leery of returning it to the same technician as before, after all he didn’t fix anything. Please Help!

You can basically narrow it down to loose wiring, more than likely in the starter or ignition area, or it could be blown fuses. I would suggest taking it to a shop, not necessarily the dealership. Any shop can usually quote you prices and fix it within the said time

Well,

I already took it to a shop and they sent it back saying it was a loose connection and is fixed now (SEE TIMELINE). Obviously can't be fuses, otherwise it wouldn't work sometimes and not others.
