I have a 1994 Z28 5.7 liter 6 speed and I think I have a head gasket problem. I saw a product called Steel Seal online that repairs head gasket leaks by pouring this product into the radiator when engine is cold and then letting it run up to full temp. Have you heard of this product and if so what is your opinion on using this in place of going through a costly repair?

Hi there,

I never advocate the use of these stop gap repairs, they may buy you a bit of time if you are lucky but the problem won't go away, some of these products can cause more problems such as blocking radiator cores and causing more overheating problems, the re is only one way to fix your problem, and that is remove the heads and do it correctly.
