1994 Chevy Camaro 94 camaro starts then dies please HELP!

not sure why you put in a push bottom but sounds more like a short in the wires if the staarter was just replaced when it was doing this the push bottom might be going bad also

I hooked the push button up to kinda by pass the ignition because when i turn the key foward i just get one click from under the dash the push button works but it shuts right off i dont what it is i had so many mechanics look at it but no one seems to know if you have any ideas please help me and how do you check for a short in the wires? And thank you

Did you take all of the wires off of the battery side of the starter.
if not try unhooking those and connecting them directly to the battery, that was one of the issues on my 86, it wouldnt start until i isolated the starter, now the only wires to the starter is the main battery cable and the wire for the push button.

If it starts after you isolate the starter then you have a short in one of the fusible links or in the ignition or alternator wires.

isolated the starter like you said it starts but shuts off within 3 seconds and i tested the 2 whit wires with an orange cover coming from the steering column and it has no ohms reading but the ones from the computer to the column has a ohm reading would a faulty key lock cylinder keep it from staying started cause everything else with the ignition system is new except that

There might be someting wrong with the ignition relay then, mine was located on top of the steerng column, i replaced it and it stays started now but my starter is still isolated, that way if it doesnt start i know right where to look.
You might have to drop your steering column to get to that box, i did and it was a pain but that was one of the major issues.

I'll try it when i get the car back its in the shop now.For some strange reason they dont know whats wrong with the guy said he's having someone else to look at it tommorow so i'll give him till the end of this week then i'll go back to working on it myself.And do you think a diagnostics test would help?

I just remembered my car doesnt have a starter relay it has a solenoid wich is new do you know where the vats box is or where i could get one.

If you wanted to try and save some money i'd go to a pick a part salvage yard and look for the newest one in your f-body line and see if you can't get one from there or just look it up at your favorite part store online.

Ok guys Im gonna go with vats does anyone know the location of the vats box its not the computer cause i put a new computer in it and still the same thing i think the security light would be on if the bulb wasnt blown.so if anyone knows the location i would please let me know
