I recently fixed a problem with my cooling fans not engaging. However, my operating temperature stays between 230 to 250. I spoke with a chevy service writer and he told me that the normal operating temp is 195 to 210. This was my father in laws car and he told me that the fan switch and coolant temp sensor has been replaced. The primary fan will not come on untill about 240. Any ideas? By the way this is a 305 TPI

What is the present thermostat rating and antifreeze mix you are using? Could try a cooler one down to 180 and see what happens.

I dont know I will replace the thermostat with a new one. And do a drain and fill. Can I get back to you at a later time, for example in about 3-4 days.
