Engine Mechanical problem
1991 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

On the passenger side of the engine you can see a small amount of smoke rising from near where the valve cover and headers meet. There is a very faint plastic smell to the smoke, it might not even be related.

You have a leaking valve cover gasket. Oil is leaking onto the hot exhaust manifold and burning off. This will not cause any drivability issues, so long as you maintain a proper oil-level.

The gasket is an easy fix. All you need to do is remove the four bolts holding the valve cover on, then scrape away any stuck gasket material and finally put on the new gasket.

Make sure not to tighten the bolts too tight!
