Engine Performance problem
1985 Chevy Camaro V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 1985 Iroc that I pulled a 305 Tuned Port Injection system out of and replaced it with another 305 block out of a 79 camaro. Anyways, the motor I pulled out of the car had more oil on the block than in it(Not Literally). I know very little about building engines so you guys will see me often in here. Is the motor worth rebuilding for a person like myself to learn how to do it? I would hate to tear the entire thing down to find out its worth scrap metal and nothing more. The motor was running when pulled out by myself. Although it was running very rough since it has approximately 150,000 miles on it.

Hi:
If it was running, it's rebuildable, but I have no idea how much you will have into it. And yes, I think it would be a great opportunity to learn from. Just make sure how much money will be needed in parts before you start rebuilding it.

Good Luck,
Joe
