I previously asked 2 questions about my 84 Z28 overheating....I replaced the fan clutch and it ran cooler....it sat in my driveway running for 45 minutes and the tempatur did not rise above 110 degrees at all....I drove it 15 miles to the gas station without the tempature rising above 110 degrees....after getting gas I started the car and the tempature rose to 220 and slowly rose to 250 degrees....I pulled over to turn the car off and it dropped back down to 220 degrees....so I drove 5 miles back to the shop....the lowest it ran was 240 and the highest it ran was 250....I turned the car off to let it cool....after 5 min. I started checking things....the resevoir was slam full of coolant....I could hold my hand on the radiator cap without burning myself....I disconnect the heater hoses from the firewall and bypassed them together eliminating the heater core....I let it cool and drove it around the block.....it stayed at 120 the whole 10 miles I drove....it rose back to 250 when I pulled in the driveway....again the resevoir was slam full of water and I could put my hand on the radiator cap without burning myself....the top radiator hose was cool at the radiator....it was hot as hell at the intake....but this spot in the hose seemed to get hotter within minutes of turning the car off....I drove it about 6 miles at 120 degrees and it rose to 250 at a stoplight and dropped back to 220 within seconds and went back to 120 and stayed until I pulled into my driveway and it rose to 250 degress....why is my Camaro still overheating?
