i have a 1983 camaro berlinetta that has about 137000 miles. 305, auto trans., pwr windows & locks, t-tops. today i noticed that when i put it in park, it wouldn't hold that gear and would continue to roll forward. i referred to my haynes manual and couldn't find anything that helped. PLEASE help before i do serious damage to my baby!!

Check the shifting linkage to make sure there isn't an obstruction or broke. If not, it maybe the 'park pin' in the transmission is sheered off.

83 camaro has a shift cable that usually breaks plastic tabs off at bracket on trans. will shift all gears but park it pushes harder on cable.
