I would like to change to an edlebrock 1406. What would I have to do if I remove the computer from the system to make it all work

that is a part time computer so it won't matter to much if youswitch carbs. It just won't be able to adjust anything on the carb to richen or lean it out if it needs it. Your service engine light may stay on though.
