1980 camaro stalls in gear

Hey i recently replaced the engine from a 305 to a 350 bored .40 over it seems to want to stal when i put it in gear un less i give it gas to keep it alive. also it wants to take off but when i push the gas it doesnt excelerate very fast. i was thinking torque converter?

If it has a high stall torgue converter it may be the problem but on the offset it sounds like a carb problem to me.

the torque converter is stock i was thinking i needed a higher stall like 2300 or so. because it idles fun and what not but just when i put it in gear.

It may idle funy because you might have a little more than stock cam. Funny idle is also caused by a vacuum leak. Good luck
