When removing, take a screw driver, punch a hole in the center and pry it out. When replacing it, I center it, take a small block of wood, and tap the new one in. They also make a rubber one for replacement if you are in a tight area. It has a bolt on it that when tightened expands the rubber fixing the problem.
Either way will work.
